Psychology Fees for Therapy and Assessment

Bear in Mind Psychology provides therapy and psychological assessment for children, teenagers, adults and families across the Sunshine Coast.

Therapy Sessions

A standard 50-minute therapy session is $210.

With a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, the current Medicare rebate is $98.95. This leaves an out-of-pocket cost of $111.05 per session.

At Bear in Mind Psychology, we believe in providing an affordable service for our clients. The current Australian Psychological Society suggested fee for a 46–60 minute psychology consultation is $318.

Private health rebates may be available depending on your level of cover. Please check directly with your private health fund, as rebate amounts and conditions vary.

NDIS Sessions

NDIS sessions are $232.99 per session.

NDIS pricing arrangements are set externally and can change over time, so NDIS-funded clients should check their plan details and funding arrangements before booking.

Diagnostic and Learning Assessments

Diagnostic and learning assessments are $250 per session.

A full assessment usually includes an initial session, two assessment sessions, a feedback session and a comprehensive written report.

The written report usually takes 2–3 hours to write.

Medicare rebates apply for some assessments, depending on the referral.

Attachment Therapy

What Assessments Can Include

Our clinicians are all highly experienced with assessing cognitive abilities, academic and learning skills, neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism, and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, adjustment difficulties, phobias or OCD.

We use standardised assessment tools and DSM-5 criteria where relevant to help guide diagnosis and provide valuable recommendations.

Reports We Do Not Provide

Bear in Mind Psychology does not provide court reports or legal reports.

Children

When big emotions, behaviour, or learning aren't clicking, we help families understand what's going on and build a plan that works

Teens

The teenage years can bring as many challenges as opportunities. We give young people a safe space to figure things out and build practical skills.

Adults

Whether it's anxiety that won't shift, a relationship that's not working, or a diagnosis you've been putting off, we're here to help.
